I’ve played World of Warcraft on and off since 2007, and have seen my share of joke NPC names, such as Gordie Lapforge the goblin, Haris Pilton, and Siouxsie the Banshee.
By contrast, Lord of the Rings Online has remained consistent in its use of either canon names for NPCs taken directly from the books, or similarly-styled names to maintain that consistency.
Which is why I laughed out loud when I saw this guy south of Archet:
I can’t say for certain that it was done on purpose, but if it was, well played, LOTRO, well played.
Spoiler: Wil Wheatley dies.
